Ostuni -Italy – Known as the „white“ city!

Ostuni is located in the province of Brindisi and was built on three hills. The beautiful old town is located on one of the highest hills and is thus visible from the coast and the plain, giving the town its very special peculiarity. The small town with Greek flair is known worldwide as the „white city“ because of its whitewashed houses. A holiday home in Ostuni is just the right choice for culture lovers!

In the heart of the old town lies „La Piazza della Liberta“ with the town hall, which is located in a former monastery building. The cathedral and the Baroque church of Santa Maria Maddalena are also located in the old town. In the numerous restaurants and trattorias you can enjoy the typical pugliesischen specialties here. We especially recommend the starters, which are quite excellent.

The historic town of Ostuni is surrounded by the picturesque Itria Valley with its numerous small trulli, narrow streets with typical dry stone walls and stately Masserien. Depending on the season, you can admire red poppy fields, golden wheat fields and green olive groves. However, the sea is also only a few kilometers away from the city. Ostuni’s marvelous Ostuni Marina, which has received several awards in recent years for the quality of the water and the clean beaches of the Baniera Blu. The beautiful bays offer bathing fun for every taste, because here alternate fine sandy beaches with dune landscapes and rocky beaches.

In the neighborhood of Ostuni are many smaller towns, which are also worth seeing with their numerous narrow and winding streets, steep stairs and whitewashed houses. Places like Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca are easily reached from here. But due to the central location, excursions to the south of Puglia are possible, e.g. to Gallipoli, Otranto or Santa Maria d. Leuca.
